Tip of the Week: Eat Healthy This Fourth of July!
The Fourth of July is fast approaching and that means parties, cookouts, and family gatherings are too!
If you are going to a cookout or barbeque, or if you are grilling out at home consider these healthy protein options:
- Grass-fed beef for steaks or burgers; garnish with your favorite add-ons like leaf lettuce, beef-steak tomato slice, or even sliced avocado.
- Bison Burgers are another popular, very lean meat to choose from. You can find them at your local health food store or farmer’s market. (See Dr. Miles blog for more information)
- Organic chicken breast, cut into cubes, can be placed on skewers for yummy kabobs; add various fresh cut bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms for color and flavor.
Don’t forget the sides!
Skip the potato salad and chips- take a colorful tossed salad, fresh berries, or sliced veggies and hummus to share.
