Michale J. (Mickey) Barber, M.D.,

Chief Executive Officer/Chief Medical Officer

Michale J. (Mickey) Barber, M.D., CEO/CMO of Cenegenics Carolinas is a board certified anesthesiologist who graduated from The College of Charleston, completed medical school at The Medical University of South Carolina, did her residency at Tulane University, and finished her fellowship at Harvard. She also was an assistant professor of Tulane University. During her training and career in academic medicine, she received several awards for clinical performance and teaching skills. Throughout her academic and private practice, she passionately pursued her interest in health, nutrition, exercise, and mind-body medicine. Further studies and certification in Age Management Medicine allow her to combine her unique interests and training to empower her patients to live vigorous, healthy lives at any age. In November 2012, Dr. Barber was awarded the top honor in her field and presented with the Alan P. Mintz award for Clinical Excellence in Age Management Medicine.

Dr. Barber offers an integrative approach to age management medicine while providing the patient with assessment of hormonal balance and overall health and disease risk. Her philosophy for successful aging includes maintaining energy, health and sexual vigor through shared responsibility of the patient-doctor team. Dr. Barber not only teaches her patients about hormonal balance, but practices such balance herself. She placed second in a masters figure competition after beginning an age management program and is a living example of the benefits of the program. She has been featured on television across the country and in publications including: The Charleston Mercury, Shape Magazine, The Senior Sun, The Charleston City Paper, The Charleston Regional Business Journal, The Charlotte Business Journal, and Vogue.

After several years of affiliation with Cenegenics Medical Institute, the association grew into a partnership and the opening of Cenegenics Carolinas in April 2006. Dr. Barber is a Senior Partner with Cenegenics Medical Institute and was the first partner to open a Cenegenics center outside of the corporate office in Las Vegas. Still very active at the corporate level, Dr. Barber serves as the Physician Advisor for Cenegenics Living Online, an internet-based application where patients and staff can interact and closely follow each patient's progress. In addition, Dr. Barber is the Medical Editor of the Cenegenics Pharmacy Newsletter and is also the Medical Director of the Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation's Medical Library. She is a member of the advisory board for the Age Management Medicine Group and often presents at their conferences (held twice each year).

Dr. Barber is involved in and supports community outreach programs such as the Chamber of Commerce, Pet Helpers and Women Making a Difference. In 2006, Cenegenics Carolinas center received a nomination for the "Small Business of the Year" award from the Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Barber resides on the Isle of Palms with her husband, Robert Graf, and her two children, Lindsay and Cameron. She is also has three stepchildren who are all grown and living in Virginia and Charleston. Dr. Barber is a sports and fitness enthusiast who especially enjoys dance and golf as well as being a proud mother to two exceptional athletes.

Dr. Chris Nagy

Chief Medical Officer - Charlotte

Dr. Chris Nagy spent more than 16 years as a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon before joining Cenegenics Carolinas and practicing Age Management Medicine full-time. Dr. Nagy's goal is to introduce and teach the important lifestyle behaviors necessary for patients to improve their health and quality of life now and in the future.

Dr. Nagy graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Joseph's College and received his medical degree (M.D.) from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, in 1990. Following his Orthopaedic residency and fellowship, Dr. Nagy began practice in 1996. With his growing passion for wellness, Dr. Nagy furthered his education by training in Age Management Medicine via the Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation, completing a fellowship with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and earning certification in Mastering the Protocols of Hormone Optimization.

Following his extensive training, Dr. Nagy founded and directed Your Personal Wellness Center. Dr. Nagy's passion for teaching and spreading the message of optimal health began as a result of building his wellness practice. The transformative changes he witnessed in his clients convinced him that the efficacy of Age Management Medicine is far superior to what traditional medicine offers in the field of preventative and optimized health. In 2012, after successfully helping many clients improve their health and significantly diminish the impact of the aging process, Dr. Nagy was selected to join Cenegenics Carolinas as the Chief Medical Officer of the Charlotte office.

A self-described "Health and Wellness Warrior," Dr. Nagy continues to champion the principles of proper nutrition, efficient and results-driven exercise, appropriate nutraceutical supplementation and hormonal optimization. Dr. Nagy is a strong advocate of the Cenegenics Carolinas program and is a client himself.

Active in his community, Dr. Nagy has given numerous seminars, demonstrations and talks on topics related to health and optimized living. Dr. Nagy also writes a column entitled, Choose Health, in his local newspaper and serves as a board member on The Bread Riot, a local food advocacy organization.

Personally, Dr. Nagy is married to a lovely wife and has three beautiful daughters. He loves spending time with family, camping and exercising. He enjoys music, dancing, Broadway musicals and is frequently caught singing throughout the day. As a poster child for all things health and wellness, Dr. Nagy has competed and won on the natural bodybuilding circuit.

Dr. Randi Popp

Institute Physician

Dr. Randi Popp comes to Cenegenics Carolinas following an extensive history as a Primary Care Physician. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree at Vanderbilt University, she went on to medical school at the University of Miami and finished her residency at Georgetown University.

Dr. Popp first came to South Carolina following her residency to work for the National Service Corporation. She first made her mark in Charleston when she helped build a Primary Care practice with 3 other physicians. After 4 years, Dr. Popp left to start her own practice, where she has been for the last 8 years. In 2005, She began incorporating hormone replacement therapy into her practice, and later expanded her services by opening an additional practice: Aging to Perfection in Mt. Pleasant. Dr. Popp has an excellent patient care record with high marks across the board. At Cenegenics Carolinas, Dr. Popp will work alongside Dr. Barber to help patients achieve optimal health.

Dr. Popp is married with an 11 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. She is a big sports fan and loves cheering on both her children at soccer and the Florida Gators.

Carrie Crosby

Operations Coordinator

Carrie began her tenure with Cenegenics Carolinas in 2008 as Dr. Barber's executive assistant. Over the years, her management skills became apparent and in 2010, Carrie was promoted to Operations Coordinator. As such, Carrie keeps the Cenegenics Carolinas office running smoothly and helps to keep patients happy. She juggles a variety of administrative tasks while serving as the local office's information technology, accounting and marketing/public relations liaison. Carrie also works very closely with headquarters to help with operations at the corporate level.

Born and raised in the Charleston area, Carrie left her home on the Isle of Palms to attend Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. There, she graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in psychology with a concentration in business/economics. Before joining Cenegenics Carolinas, Carrie worked for the Capital Markets division of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc. in Atlanta as a member of the Institutional Equity sales team, while also handling private client/retail brokerage operations.

Carrie lives in Charleston with her Springer Spaniel, Moultrie. She is involved in various groups throughout the community including the Daughters of the American Revolution, Communities in Schools and St. Michael's Episcopal Church. In her rare spare time, she enjoys watching Jeopardy, socializing, traveling, reading, the ocean and art history.

Matt Mill

Patient Services Specialist

Matt Mill handles all patient communications and clinical processes. He truly is the glue that holds the practice together! He processes patient inquiries, pharmacy orders, lab requisitions and results, and manages Executive Health Evaluation days. If it involves a patient, Matt is probably in charge of it flowing seamlessly.

Matt is from Mt. Pleasant, SC and attended the College of Charleston, where he majored in Historic Preservation & Community Planning and Urban Studies. He was raised by health conscious parents who focused on preventative health, which fostered his interest in age management medicine.

Prior to working at Cenegenics Carolinas, Matt worked in Atlanta for a real estate firm. He is happy to be back in his hometown, close to his family. He currently lives downtown and enjoys running, biking, reading, and the beach.

Tiffany Jackson, N.D.

Nutrition Specialist

Tiffany Jackson, N.D. is a licensed naturopathic medical doctor and certified yoga instructor. She has extensive training and expertise in nutrition, herbs, environmental medicine and natural health counseling. She uses a wide range of natural treatments to promote the body' s natural healing response including comprehensive lab panels, special diets, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine and healthy lifestyle counseling.

Dr. Jackson graduated from the University of Massachusetts and then pursued her doctorate at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. After completing her education, she proceeded with a one year internship at the Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine in North Charleston, South Carolina.

After finishing her educational pursuits, Dr. Jackson joined Great Plains Laboratory in 2008 as their first clinical consultant. In that vocation, she taught physicians how to interpret laboratory data, presented at medical conferences and seminars around the US, and was responsible for coordinating educational activities within the company. Along with her work at the laboratory, Dr. Jackson is a Defeat Autism Now! practitioner. As such, she provides educational support to physicians, patients and their parents - particularly in the areas of autism spectrum disorders, environmental medicine, gastroenterology and heavy metal toxicity.

Dr. Jackson is particularly passionate about teaching both doctors and patients how to effectively use diet and nutritional supplementation to optimize patients' body compositions. She has seen first-hand how important proper nutrition and supplementation are and can't wait to be involved in a practice that specializes in optimizing internal functionality in order to PREVENT disease. She is thrilled to be the newest member of the Cenegenics Carolinas team and we couldn't be more excited to add her to our stellar team.

Katrina Hall

Exercise and Lifestyle Specialist (Charlotte)

Katrina Hall has a background in clinical exercise testing and exercise prescription and has been in the health and wellness field for the past nine years. Katrina grew up in Lakeland, FL, where she played varsity soccer and ran track. Katrina then went on to attend the University of Tampa where she received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies and earned a minor in psychology. She then decided to pursue a graduate degree and moved to the Carolinas, where she was offered a graduate assistantship as a health and wellness coordinator for adults over the age of sixty years. Katrina received her Master's of Science Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Clinical Exercise Physiology, where she completed her thesis on "The Effects of a Resistance Training Program on muscular Strength, Range of Motion, and Ankle-Brachial- Index in an Osteoarthritic Geriatric Population." She presented at the American College of Sports Medicine Conference in 2010.

Katrina has worked as a fitness counselor and exercise specialist with bariatric patients for the past 2 years, and also teaches group fitness classes and personal trains various populations in her spare time. She enjoys participating in road and trail races, traveling, going to the beach, and being outside.

Riley Phelps

Nutrition and Exercise Specialist (Charleston)

Born in Arizona and raised in Atlanta, GA, Riley Phelps developed his love for exercise and fitness at a young age while playing a variety of sports. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Coastal Carolina University where he was recognized as an outstanding athlete. Riley is a former Division 1 college athlete, captaining the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team his junior and senior years and leading them to four Big South Conference titles and two NCAA tournament appearances.

After college, Riley pursued a Master's Degree in Health Exercise and Sport Science from The Citadel, with concentrations in both exercise prescription and biomechanics.

Prior to joining Cenegenics, Riley was the head exercise specialist working for the US Navy, practicing locally at Joint Base Charleston. Riley enjoys seeing people succeed and meet their goals. He feels accomplished knowing he had a hand in helping them reach their unique goals.

Riley lives in West Ashley, and enjoys teaching, coaching, and practicing what he preaches.

Amanda Peterson

Patient Concierge (Charleston)

Amanda Peterson's compassion and ability to nurture are the obvious results of being the daughter of a practicing RN for the elderly. Amanda is responsible for maintaining close contact with existing and potential patients, in order to meet their personalized needs. Priding herself on the highest level of patient care and customer service, Amanda's top priorities are each patient's concerns, goals, and successes. In addition, Amanda handles the scheduling and coordinating for both our Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC offices.

Amanda attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Atlanta. She has worked for the prestigious residential interior design firm, McAlpine, Booth, and Ferrier Interiors as well as Drexel Heritage. No matter the industry, Amanda's greatest satisfaction is seeing a client's goals achieved. "I have a passion for people and I am proud to be part of a company that changes people's lives every day!" Amanda resides on the Isle of Palms and enjoys the beach, socializing with friends, and all things outdoors!

Craig Hopkins

Patient Development Specialist

Craig Hopkins was born and raised in South Carolina. He received his Bachelor Degree from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, where he double majored in Marketing and Management. At Cenegenics Carolinas, Craig is responsible for leading the business development efforts while working closely with Dr. Barber and her team.

Prior to joining Cenegenics Carolinas, Craig spent many years sharpening his professional skills. He has held several positions in sales, leadership and management. His experience and dedication have allowed Craig to assist others in achieving their personal and professional goals, something he truly enjoys.

Craig developed his passion for fitness and athletics at a young age while playing multiple sports. In college he was the Intramural Chairman for his fraternity, and he has continued to stay active with fitness and exercise. Craig lives in Mt Pleasant, SC and is the proud father of two girls, Mckenzie and Sydney. In his free time, he enjoys following University of South Carolina athletics, traveling, exercising, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
