CENEGENICS CAROLINAS TO OFFER FREE CAROTID INTERNA-MEDIA THICKNESS (CIMT) ULTRASOUND SCANS TO WOMEN DURING FEBRUARY IN RECOGNITION OF AMERICAN HEART MONTH
Representatives from Cenegenics Carolinas, the Southeast's leading age management practice, are excited to announce the launch of a ground-breaking Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program, featuring advanced screening technology, to be available to patients and non-patients beginning February 1, 2012.
Representatives from Cenegenics Carolinas, the Southeast's leading age management practice, today announced that the practice will offer free Carotid Interna-Media Thickness (CIMT) ultrasound scans to women in recognition of American Heart Month this February.
The CIMT ultrasound scan is a non-invasive test that is designed to help predict future cardiovascular events, including heart attacks and stroke.
"Many are unaware that heart disease is the number one killer of women today, killing one out of every three women," said Dr. Mickey Barber, CEO and CMO of Cenegenics Carolinas. "During American Heart Month, Cenegenics Carolinas would like to draw attention to the fact that heart disease is also preventable. The American Heart Association recommends CIMT testing to all patients over 45 years of age, and younger if the patient has multiple risk factors such as a family history. We are happy to be able to offer women the opportunity to track their current health and help prevent future heart disease and encourage women in our area to take advantage of this procedure, which could potentially save their life."
